Zimmy always stay on # 48 only on the Achura ranking, not even in the general top 100 anymore.
I am especially mad that there are so many bad avatars that constantly get rated better than Zim, like the totally generic Black Leather.

Essentially, some of the biggest corps / alliances in game declare open warfare against ice miners. This time is caldari ice. Last time was gallente ice. So if you mine caldari ice, dont go AFK as you've got a bullseye on your head.

Ya, when i 1st started posting here this was done once a week. Then it was done 4 times a week. Now im off and on with it. Since i don't log on here Fri-Sunday. That Monday update literally kills a little of what i think is left of my soul. Since that equates to nearly 40-100 pages from when i log in at work. Not to mention it keeps growing. Tbh i thought about abusing my work powers and having my secretary short hand print outs for me and then type my replys as i dictate them to her as i am actually working. However...i became terrified that my secretary was a plant to see if i actually work at work. So decided against that.

So i mainly do a skim Monday update and full updates Tue-Thur. I just go on business trips every other weekend and when i am not. I do this silly thing called station trading...or when really bored GC or if i am mind numbed. roam low sec in indy bait ships with a mini fleet waiting to warp on me.

Most everybody else now posting in this thread started during or after 2012.

This thread got buried quite a few times back at the start. General Discussion was really volatile back then and threads were very easily forgotten about due to the rapid turnover, especially with all of the political issues happening within the game and with CCP. Most threads got lost very quickly and eventually would automatically get locked after 3 months..

This thread hit 100 pages towards the end of Feb. 2012 and then got buried 16 pages deep in General Discussion when I revived it the first time, about the middle of March 2012.

The second time I revived this thread was 1 month later in April 2012 where I found it on page 46 of General Discussion.

I don't contribute this thread being active today due to my efforts alone, there were a couple of other players who also kept reviving this thread and bumping it back to page 1 of General Discussion to keep it active. Just kinda sad to no longer see them posting.

Anyway, that's it for the 'Walk Down Memory Lane'. As usual, more LIKES distributed.

So Pepper, to understand all of this, let me tell you a little bit of EVE history:

In the beginning, there was BoB- an Empire of Evil ruled over by the nefarious Sir Molle.
In the depth of space, Sir Molle forged twelve rings of power, rings made of pure Technetium, and gifted them to his vassals just before he was defeated by a heroic coalition led by Goons in an apocalyptic battle.
But the power of those rings was too great for any mortal to control, and the evil magick corrupted their minds with greed for wealth and power. The former noble warriors and kings who slew Molle were lured by the dark power of these rings and slowly turned into hollow shades- lifeless beings, driven only by the unquenchable thirst for power and Isks.
Our former leader Montolio was driven insane by the power of his ring, but we managed to replace him.
And now the Goons succumbed to the very same power they vowed to fight... from his POS tower, the Eye of Molle is looking at Mittani and you can hear his evil laughter.

Alas i cannot get proper bacon. Well he sells it, but i dont like how he cures it.

While spending the weekend in Z++rich, the world's capital of high finance I had some weird idea- so crazy that it might actually work.
Banks never worked in EVE because of the lack of accountability and enforcement.

But... Hedge Funds!
Just think about it. A hedge fund corporation where people park alts as "portfolios" that hold ice, moongoo or minerals for the fund- the risk would be divided by the amount of people in the fund. No big heist possible, since not even the CEO can access the member hangars.
With enough members this fund might grow big enough to influence the EVE economy on its own.
A centralized corp fund might act as lender to facilitate short selling for fund members to bet on falling market prices.

What's your opinion as a professional about it? (of course, I haven't worked out all the details yet- just some rather abstract idea that made me smile the last days)

I had a pretty epic night last night.

Went roaming with a few old Club Bears + 2 Koreans and it was pretty epic.

First we went to Syndicate where we met EVE Uni and we handed out free pvp lessons to them. However most of them didn't want to leave the station so it was only tacklers and stupid BCs we managed to kill.

Then we went on and came across a 40man BC blob with 3 basis. We were unable to break the reps of the basis, but we managed to snatch some of their tacklers. If we were 1 or 2 more ppl we would have been able to kill their BCs :(

We continued to fountain which was pretty empty. Only popped a cynoship and his pod. None of the Goons wanted to fight. Must be either because they are too lazy after having fought Test or they are simply too scared to fight ppl who know how to pvp.

So we went on to Delve to see if Test were any better. And we found a Goon gang camping a Test station. Club Bear peace enforcement stopped the fighting by reducing the goonships to wrecks and killing whatever Tests they were chasing. Sadly most of the Goon fleet chickened out when they realized that there weren't any easy kills with us.

Test didn't want to fight in Delve so we went on to Soliara in Arida to see if test wanted to fight us there. Despite being able to outnumer us 25 to 1 they didn't want to fight at all. So we went home.

I learned that during an infamous scene in "Brokeback Mountain".

What I wanted to say:
You are never good enough and you are never rich enough to leave highsec. There is no special point where you will say :"Hey, now I am good enough, now let's head out to null / low /WH "
As your skills improve, you will be able to fly more expensive ships- so you will want to stay in highsec just a little longer to make money for those ships- but while you are doing this, your skills will improve even further. It's a vicious circle.
If you want to go out into the wildlands, it's better to do it a bit "too early" than too late- since "too late" easily becomes "never".

There are plenty of opportunities to make money at least in null and Wormholes, and good players who are willing to teach pewpew if newbies are willing to learn.

You want steady income, just hold out and have patience. Took me a while but as an example, I ran a lvl 4 mission today and pulled in 40 mil. Ran another and pulled in another 20 mil. Another one gave me 30 mil.

In EVE, patience is a virtue, BUT a new player can just as previous speakers pointed out, get out in null and get his/her ass kicked but have fun while doing it and learn a whole bunch in the process.

Skills impotant? Of course!

ISK important? Indeed!

Skills and ISK the only requirements for having fun in EVE? Hell no!

Glomps required in EVE? HELL YEAH!

Kittens beats the cr*p out of dogs? Every day, minute and second for the rest of eternity! End of discussion!
